Smiddy Cottage is a restored 18th century Blacksmith's Cottage located at the North West of the Isle of Islay. Despite the remote location we do have WiFi available in the cottage.

The cottage is located one mile up a private farm track on Smaull Farm, which is owned by the RSPB and farmed by ourselves. This picturesque setting was featured in the first week of the BBC's Springwatch 2007.

Due to its unique location you have the feeling of complete isolation, yet you are only a five-minute walk from the famous Saligo Bay and in the other direction the Opera Rocks and dramatic North West coastline.

If you are interested in bird watching, walking, long sandy beaches or just like to enjoy peace and quiet then this is the ideal location for you. The cottage itself has been finished to a very high standard and would be ideal as a honeymoon retreat or for couples wishing to get away from it all while still enjoying relaxing in luxury.
